Our Philosophy
The philosophy of Full Circle Framing is to create a finished framing package that is unique and style appropriate for both the customer and the art, while using proper materials and techniques for preservation. The shop can capably handle complex designs, volume orders, shadow box object presentations, needle art, art on canvas, antique art, down to simple repair or replacement procedures.
Though a poster doesn’t need the same kind of care that an antique photo would, we will always discuss the best framing methods for your piece. The personality of both the art and the owner will guide us to an ideal and long-lasting presentation. The visual effect can be enhanced further by use of subtle or dramatic artistic touches, such as French mats, decorative lines or mat cuts, fabric liners or mats, the use of depth and spacing, lettering, or use of multiple elements within the frame. Full Circle Framing offers a variety of glazing to protect and enhance, including Tru Vue Museum Glass, which provides the best in clarity without glare and UV protection.
About the Owner
Carol Zeilman opened Full Circle Framing in the spring of 2009. She was employed for 14 years as the Mystic Seaport Museum’s framer, until economic conditions caused the closure of the department. Prior to that she co-owned Image Associates, providing framing and art services with her partner, Gretchen Hatfield. Overall, she has over 30 years experience, keeping current with trade education, as the industry has evolved and improved on issues of conservation and design. Her college education and experience in fine art and communication design have enhanced her appreciation and abilities in custom picture framing. She says, "I love the process, and pleasing customers with the results as much today as when I began the work in 1978!"
